CPA Pearland AlternativeAbout Steven Palmieri and our practice
Before you call anyone, you should know who you'd be working with. This page explains who we are, what we do and the one thing we don't do.

Who we are.
Steven Palmieri is the Tax CFO behind this Pearland site, and owners also know him as the Entrepreneur's CFO. His practice keeps the books for small businesses, sets up payroll, and prepares business tax returns. For Pearland owners, that includes making sure each register charges the right sales tax rate for its county.
We call a month finished when the bank, the credit cards and the loans all match, and the sales tax collected matches each register's report. Only finished months go into your tax return.
Payroll setup means the registrations and a payroll provider you choose and keep. Your provider runs each payday. We don't.
You can call us at +1 844-324-7273. We leave our email and street address off this site on purpose. A note sent through the form goes to the people who do the monthly work.
We work over video calls with your books on a shared screen, so you never have to drive to an office. The practice is based in Dallas, and we don't have an office in Pearland. Your month still gets finished on the day we agreed.
Why we built this site.
When you look for local help, you often land on a directory that doesn't say who will answer, or on a page that treats all of Pearland as if it had one sales tax rate. This site puts the work, the limits and the person behind them in one place.
You're welcome to read about the two sales tax rates, the school tax and the common questions, and then leave. Reading them is useful on its own. Paid work only starts after we both sign an engagement letter.
A busy weekend in Pearland usually shows up as a big deposit on Monday. Before we record it, we check which location made the sales, so each one is taxed at the right rate. On the first call, we start with your registers and their counties, and then we talk about the return.
The practice named on this page is the one you'll work with. We keep your monthly books, give you financial statements from them, and prepare your tax return from those months. The one thing we don't do is sign audits or reviews. The disclosures page explains that limit.
What a month with us looks like.
We start with your bank feed and match it to what the bank shows. Anything we can't match gets a name, or it stays open with a note beside it. Your categories stay the same each month, so you can compare this month with last month. If a new account appears every time you open a location, you can't compare one busy weekend with the last one.
Your tax return is built only from finished months. When this year looks different from last year, we adjust your estimated payments. Fall is when we talk about how your company is taxed, while there's still time to change it. That stays a conversation, and we don't promise a result.
Your financial statements come from the same monthly books, without an audit or review report attached. If a buyer or lender asks for a signed report on your Pearland company, we'll point you to a firm that signs them. Our work stops at books that match the bank. Your registers can be in order before that request ever comes, and we'll tell you so on the first call.
You don't need a tidy folder to talk with us. Tell us when your books were last caught up, which months are still open, and which register you don't trust. We'll tell you what we see, including when a short cleanup is the whole job, or when you don't need us at all.
What happens on the first call.
We'll ask when your books were last finished, whether your registers share one rate, and whether a lender has asked for an audit or review. Those answers tell us whether monthly work is the right next step for you.
You'll leave knowing what the work would cover for your registers, your open months and your return. No paid work starts until a letter spells out the job. Calling the number at the bottom of this page gets you the same people who would keep your Pearland books. A note on the form or a time on the calendar reaches them too.
No client is described on these pages, and we didn't make up any numbers to sound busy. Rates come from the Texas Comptroller and the state's school district workbook, and each sentence that uses a rate names its source. If you spot a rate that's out of date, tell us on the form and we'll fix it.
If a receipt with a combined rate has been bothering you, start with the page on the two sales tax rates. The made-up example shows how the problem looks without anyone's real numbers. Either page can help you decide whether a call is worth making.
Questions people ask about us.
What kind of practice is this? Steven is a Tax CFO. The practice keeps books, sets up payroll, prepares business tax returns and plans the year with you. It doesn't sign audits or reviews. If a lender needs one, you'll need a firm that signs them, and we'll tell you so up front.
Do I have to be in Pearland to work with you? No. We work by video call with owners from Pearland to Dallas and across Texas. This site is written for Pearland because of its county line and the sales tax questions that come with it.
Who will I actually talk to? You will be talking to the Steven Palmieri practice. Steven and his team are the people who do your monthly books and your return.
